Hi everyone! My name is Tanuj Dargan, and I’m a third-year Computer Science student at the University of Victoria (UVic). I was born in the India and moved alone to Canada for my undergraduate degree.
I’m passionate about technology and innovation, with a strong focus on software development, machine learning, and distributed systems. Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on exciting projects, including building a coastal LiDAR monitoring station, optimizing CUDA kernels for high-performance computing, and contributing to UVic’s Formula Hybrid and Satellite Design teams. I also enjoy collaborating on open-source projects and developing tools that make life easier for students, such as CourseMap, a scheduling app for UVic students.
Outside of academics and work, I’m a big fan of Endurance Racing/Formula 1, Tennis and other racquet sports, both playing and watching, and I love gaming and spending time with friends and family. My career aspirations include advancing in the field of software engineering and contributing to impactful projects that push the boundaries of technology.
I decided to take this course because I enjoy working with new people and am eager to improve my networking skills while learning more about building and engaging with online communities. I’m excited to collaborate with all of you and look forward to the journey ahead!
